Single-family homes in Beaverdale typically have three to four bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. Most have yards that are perfect for outdoor entertaining and play. Other features could include hardwood floors, fireplaces, spacious living rooms, finished basements, and garages.

Beaverdale is an established residential community in Des Moines, so you won’t find many empty lots or commercial properties for sale here. Instead, you’ll find mainly single-family homes on well laid-out streets that form a grid pattern. Condos and townhomes do occasionally come up on the market.

About Beaverdale, IA

Once an area awash in fruit orchards and farms, Beaverdale began to develop in the early 20th century. It was originally called Urbandale until a neighboring village adopted that name, so residents officially named the community Beaverdale in 1917. The neighborhood saw the majority of its growth between 1920 to 1940.

Beaverdale has always attracted families and professionals because of its close proximity to the center of Des Moines and its safe, suburban atmosphere. Today it continues to attract home buyers looking for a pleasant place to buy a starter home, raise a family and set down roots in a close-knit community.
