About Norwalk, IA

Norwalk is a fast-growing city with a population of approximately 13,000. It is part of Warren County, although some of the newer sections branch out into Polk County. Ideally situated at the crossroads of Highway 5 and Highway 28, Norwalk offers easy access to the Des Moines metropolitan area and the Des Moines International Airport.

The first settlers began to build homes in Norwalk in the mid-1800s. It was officially incorporated as a city in 1900. However, it didn’t see significant growth until the 1960s with the development of Lakewood. Today the city offers a variety of neighborhoods with many new developments in the works.
